About us

The Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of New York greets you!

The Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of New York serves New York City and the surrounding area where it has gathered Latvian Lutherans for more than 100 years. Worship services are held in the church’s five regions: Brooklyn, Jamaica, Yonkers (The Northern region), New Jersey, Long Island and also elsewhere.

Two pastors and a deacon serve the church. The New York church has approximately 1000 members. In the summer our children’s camp is held on our property in New York’s Catskill Mountains. The New York church belongs both to the Latvian Ev. Luth. Church in America (LELBA) and to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). It is a recognized non-profit and has 501(c)3 status.
